Hi, I'm Zoë Gomer. I'm a 3rd year student at Rochester Institute of Technology where I am pursuing a BFA in Industrial Design, a minor in Packaging Science, and an immersion on Music. Outside of the studio I am exploring the world of design as much as I possibly can with the unique opportunities that are offered through RIT and the community of Rochester. For the 2016-2017 academic year I am honored to be serving as the President of RIT Industrial Designers Society of America and as a Coordinator for Thought At Work. I am dedicated to my work and love getting involved with the design community.
As a designer, I believe in the simplifying of design so that the form of the product directly correlates to its function while still creating a unique, eye catching aesthetic. I believe in making every aspect of a design intentional so that it enhances the users experience. Although I am an Industrial Designer by trade, I've had the opportunity to explore UI/UX, Exhibit Design, and Experiential Design through my internship at Diebold Nixdorf, independent projects, and interdisciplinary projects.
This coming summer I will be in Chicago, Illinois working as an Industrial Design Intern for Beyond Design. I am incredibly excited for this opportunity to get more real-world design exposure and contribute to such a great firm.
Outside of design my interests include concert going, playing viola as a member of RIT's orchestra, aviation, hiking, fitness, dabbling with fine art mediums, and consuming absurd amounts of coffee and tea.
